Health: Good but needs more than just hay and pasture (ie: high fat high fibre pellets)
Lameness: Off and On Soreness in Front Left Front
Vices: None
Personality: Friendly. Easy to Catch, Lead, Groom, Trim, Tie, Trailer, etc. Good with other Horses, Ponies & Donkeys. Likes to come in at night and during the rain, etc . Needs to be turned out with geldings as he tends to get overly attached to mares.
History/Training: Companion, Was a Pet for an Elderly Woman Until She Passed Away - We backed Wellby this weekend and he was great for tacking up, mounting, and dismounting, he certainly acted like he had been ridden before but he does seem fairly green or perhaps it has just been many years since he was ridden last so he will need some training, we didn't do much as he is sore in the left front, we will try again when he is feeling better
Future/Suitability: Companion/Pet, Light Pleasure Riding/Trails
Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: Currently accepting offers. So in short, Welby will be adopted to the best suited home, with the best approved application and the best offer!! We accept email money transfers or cash. We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We will never recoup what we have into Welby so we understand we will be taking a huge loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for him, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Welby needs and deserves a good permanent loving home. He has been patiently waiting for the right home since March '09 and not one potential new home has come to see him during this time.
