Barn Name: Skip

Breed: Quarter Horse
Reg'd Name: Skipped All The Rulz
Reg#: 4039170
Date of Birth: April 15, 2001
Sire: Senors Bar Leo
Dam: Skip N Spec

Height: 15.3hh
Age: UPDATED He is now 18 y/o
Gender: Gelding
Colour: Palomino

Health: Excellent
Lameness: Navicular (therefore he will need hoof boots or shoes, and a navicular supplement to get him sound, or at least comfortable). He has his sound days and his off days.

Vices: None
Personality: Friendly. Easy to Catch, Lead, Groom, Tie, Trim, Trailer, etc. Currently turned out with a group of geldings (horses, ponies & donkeys).

History/Training: Purchased at an Auction, his note said he was a beginner lesson & trail horse, we paid $1000 for him at an auction in Feb '08, he was not going for meat but he was going to a dealer so we knew he would be shuffled around as soon as they got him home and found out that he was not sound. he was very sad, underweight, sedated, lame, and he had a horrible cough & cold which took him over a month on antibitotics to get rid of. he had also been sent through the kitchener auction the week before we bought him, poor guy!

Future/Suitability: Companion, Pet & Lead Line, Very Light Pleasure Riding & Trails, Just at a Walk. Not for Jumping or Ring Work - Could also do halter, showmanship, leadline, perhaps even trail class? But if you have an excellent farrier and vet .... who knows what the future might hold for Skip!!

Additional Info: Skip lives out 24/7 with access to shelter, pasture, hay and water trough. He is an easy keeper, especially during the summer months. He does get pellets during the winter months, and also at anytime he is being given a navicular supplement. He is blanketed in the winter. He does have good stall/barn manners so could be stalled at night or during bad weather, if necessary. We use a barefoot trimmer so we have not tried shoes/pads.

Adoption Fee/Purchase Price:

We accept email money transfers or cash. We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We have at least $5000+ invested into Skip with his purchase price, trailering, vet, xrays, hay, feed, supplements, deworming, farrier, etc. We will never recoup what we have into Skip so we understand we will be taking a huge loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for him, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Skip needs and deserves a good permanent loving home. He has been patiently waiting for the right home since Feb '08.
