Colour: Black or Dark Dark Brown
Health: Excellent
Lameness: Sound but has 2 swollen hocks, possibly OCD? He walks trots and canters (& bucks & rears) soundly in the pasture
Vices: None
Personality: Friendly. Easy to Catch, Lead, Groom, Tie, Trim, Trailer, etc. Good with other Horses, Ponies & Donkeys.
History/Training: Halter Broke
Future/Suitability: Companion, Pet - With Age & Training He Should be Ok for Light Pleasure Riding or Pleasure Driving, He May or May Not Ever Be Suitable for Ringwork, Jumping or Showing, Only Time will Tell. Vet said alot of big breeds can have OCD and not be bothered by it, especially when in the hock area . Shadow's mother was a Reg'd Canadian. Father might have been a Rocky Mountain Horse, or TB ??.
Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: $1000 obo. We accept email money transfers or cash. We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We have at least $1300+ invested into Shadow with his vet, castration, hay, feed, supplements, deworming, farrier, etc. We will never recoup what we have into Shadow so we understand we will be taking a huge loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for him, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Shadow needs and deserves a good permanent loving home. He has been patiently waiting since March '09 and not one potential new home has come to see him during this time.

If you recognize this horse and know anything about his history we would love to hear from you! We named him Shadow when he arrived at HCW so he may have been known by a different name previously.
