Ramsey
Barn Name: Ramsey
Breed: TB / QH Cross ??
Height: Approx 14hh or so (will measure)
Age: 2 years old
Gender: UPDATE: the vet confirmed one of our worries today, the people who shipped him through the auction said he was a gelding, but he is indeed still a stallion - we will be arranging to have him gelded within the next 2 weeks
Colour: Grey
Health: Underweight, and his Coat is in Poor Condition. UPDATE: the vet confirmed our other worry today, that he is indeed partially blind in his right eye, he seems to have been hit (or kicked) by something across the front of his face, most likely the cause of his vision impairment, poor guy - i am sure this is why his owners shipped him
Lameness: Feet don't appear to have been trimmed (he won't even let us near them), he appears to be sound though, he's a beautiful mover! we will get him trimmed while he is sedated for his castration. after that we will start working with him to teach him to pick up his feet for cleaning and trimming
Vices: None known
Personality: very nervous around people, but he is starting to come around, has had little to no handling before coming to HCW
History/Training: Unknown, Purchased from an Auction, The owners that shipped him said he is broke to ride, but he is not.
Future/Suitability: With weight, and training, he should be suitable for pretty much anything, show or pleasure, english or western - UPDATE; due to his vision impairment he would be better off to just be a pleasure horse with a knowledgable experienced owner/rider, although depending on how things go, if he is quiet and sensible enough, he could do some showing perhaps at a later date!
