Health: Blind in Right Eye, Healthy Otherwise
Lameness: Locking Stifles every now and then. He is very sound at the w/t/c - it doesn't affect him what so ever once he is moving, only after he has been standing still. He takes a few steps and it unlocks, and away he goes. We have had the chiropractor out twice for him now, and will keep you posted!!
Vices: None Known
Personality: Friendly. Easy to catch, lead, groom, tie, trailer, etc. He gets along well with the geldings we have him in with. He is very playful. Not suitable to be turned out with mares or in a mixed herd. Geldings only as he is very studdish when turned out with the mares. He can be very pushy when he wants to be .... would be an excellent natural horsemanship project!
History/Training: Halter Broke. The rest is unknown. Poor guy was put through an auction on Friday, no one wanted him so he was put through an auction on Saturday, still no one wanted him. So here he is! I was told he also went through an auction the week prior to that as well. So sad. UPDATE: We tacked Pirate up the other day and had a volunteer (who is obviously too big for him) sit on him and be led around, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that Pirate has definitely been tacked up and ridden before. He was perfect! He may also be broke to drive, who knows! Unfortunately we don't have a cart or harness to find out! He would be best suited to a small rider about 75lbs or less. UPDATE: We had a more experienced rider try him out and he is definitely lead line broke only but he does not know what to do when someone is not leading him.
Future/Suitability: Companion, Pet, Leadline. Possibly Light Pleasure Driving?
PLEASE NOTE: I have attached some new pix below of Pirate with a rider. Please know that the riders in the pix are too big for him. But we don't have any smaller riders here to try him out for us (as all of our little riders are growing up LOL). Pirate is better suited to kids 8 yrs and under, approx 75lbs and under.

We accept email money transfers or cash. We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We have alot invested into Pirate so we understand we will be taking a huge loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for him, so please feel free to make an offer. All offers will be considered. We cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Pirate needs and deserves a good permanent loving home. He has been patiently waiting since Nov '10.
