Lameness: Has foundered in the past, prior to coming to HCW
Vices: None
Personality: Friendly. Easy to catch, lead, groom, tie, trailer, trim, etc. Currently turned out with a group of geldings (horses, ponies, donkeys)
History/Training: Riding Pony, Barrel Racing, he was being ridden by a 2 yr old before foundering, and was a show/games pony before that
Future/Suitability: Suited to small children (under 75lbs) because of his small size and tender feet that are still on the mend.UPDATE: Patches is now doing well and seems to be sound again. We kept him in a small paddock with very little grass throughout the summer. Feet trimmed every 4 weeks. We will start a little riding with him and will keep you updated! Hopefully he will be able to carry on as a kids riding pony!!
Adoption Fee/Purchase Price:
We accept email money transfers or cash. We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We have at least $500+ invested into Patches with his hay, feed, supplements, deworming, farrier, etc. We will never recoup what we have into Patches so we understand we will be taking a huge loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for him, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Patches needs and deserves a good permanent loving home. He has been patiently waiting since June '10.
