Height: Approx 15.1hh
Age: Supposed to be 18 y/o this year but we feel she is older (early 20's)
Gender: Mare
Colour: Palomino
Health: Excellent, No Known Health Issues
Lameness: Off and on lameness in front feet, benefits from front shoes. With a good farrier you may be able to help her have more sound days than off days. But I don't think she will ever be truly sound. Hence the reason she was retired to be a companion.
Vices: None
Personality: Friendly. Easy to catch, lead, groom, bath, tie, trailer, farrier, etc. Currently turned out with a group of mares (of various ages and sizes). Loves to be fussed over! Low end of pecking order, so we make sure she is only out with other gentle mares, no bullies. Comes in twice a day for senior pellets, beet pulp, supplements, etc.
History/Training: School Horse, Pleasure/Trail Horse, Companion
Future/Suitability: Companion/Pet - You Could Lead a Small Child Around on her at a Walk (under 75 lbs) but that would be her max for any riding.
Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: $226 Donation to HCW
We also accept donations. The donation can be $$, tack, riding apparel, hay, feed, etc. We have alot invested into Lady ($2500+) so please know we are not making a profit on her and appreciate any extra donation you have to offer!
We accept donations year round. Donations can be $$, Hay, Feed, Supplements, Feed Store Gift Cards, Saddles, Tack, Riding, Apparel, Blankets (in good usable/sellable condition). We would also gratefully accept volunteer chiropractors, massage therapists, vets, dentists, farriers, etc. Please Email us if you are interested in helping out in some way! Thanks!
We accept cash or email money transfers. We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We have well over $2500++ invested into Lady so we understand we will be taking a loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for her, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Lady needs and deserves a good permanent loving home.
