Josephine

Arrived at HCW: Aug 1, 2016

Barn Name: Josephine
Breed: TB or Appendix (Has a Lip Tattoo But We Can't Read It)
Height: Approx 15.1hh
Age: 19 y/o (a Very Young 19, She Does Not Act Her Age)
Gender: Mare
Colour: Bay

Health: No Known Health Issues.
Lameness: No Known Soundness Issues But Does Appear a Little Stiff When Lunging in The Round Pen (aka Tight Circles)

Most Recent Farrier: Jan 27, 2017.
Most Recent Vet: Teeth Floated March 9, 2017.

Vices: Hard to Catch in Big Field
Personality: Friendly When She Wants to Be (If You Have Food), Easy to Catch in a Smaller Paddock, She Has Separation Anxiety When Away from Her Friends, Not the Kind of Horse You Can Pull Out of the Field Once Every Blue Moon and Expect Her to Behave. She Does Best When Handled on a Daily Basis and Has a Routine. Not a Cuddly Horse.

History/Training: For Past 6 Years She Has Just Been a Companion/Pet and the Occasional Ride at a Walk as Her Owner Had Hip Issues.
Future/Suitability: Would be Best if She Was Started Over From Scratch to Teach Her To Be More Willing and Patient, and That Being Caught/Handled IS a Good Thing! She Needs Someone Who Will Spend Time With Her, Someone With Experience and Patience. This is NOT a Beginner Horse. I Think She Would Make a Great Trail Horse (As Long As She Was Ridden with Other Horses).

Additional Info: Previous Owner Said She Came From a Riding School Around the Kingston/Picton Area 6 Yrs Ago, and Teeth/Vaccs Were Done Last Fall

Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: DONATION ONLY. The Donations can be $$, Hay, Feed, Supplements, Feed Store Gift Cards, Saddles, English Tack, Western Tack, Riding Apparel, Blankets, etc (in good usable/sellable condition).

We would also gratefully accept volunteer chiropractors, massage therapists, vets, dentists, farriers, etc. Please Email us if you are interested in helping out in some way! Thanks!

We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We accept email money transfers or cash. We know we will never recoup what we will invest into Josephine, so we understand we will be taking a loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for her, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Josephine needs and deserves a good permanent loving home.

Current Status: Located at HCW in Cameron, ON. Available for Adoption/Sale or Fostering/Lease (Until Adopted). If you have any questions about Josephine and/or would like to make arrangements to see her, please email Claire at HCWEquineRescue@sympatico.ca

SPONSORS NEEDED!!!: If you would like to help Josephine, but are not able to Adopt or Foster her at this time perhaps you would be interested in Sponsoring her by helping to cover the costs of (or a portion of) her daily care - such as his Hay, Treats, Farrier, Vaccinations, Teeth Floating, Deworming, Blue Salt Block, Treats, Halter, Winter Turnout Blanket, Spring Turnout Sheet, Brushes, Halter, Lead Rope, Fly Mask, Wipe-On Fly Spray, etc. If you would like to help in any way, please email Claire at HCW for details. Thanks! HCWEquineRescue@sympatico.ca

Please Note: Trailering is Available for Josephine. The Cost is Your Responsibility But We Can Make All The Arrangements for You From This End. If You Would Like a Trailering Quote Please Call Josh at 905-242-7229 or Email at: horsepowertransport@hotmail.com Please Supply Him With Your City/Town Name and Postal Code, So That He Can Give You An Accurate Quote.

If you recognize Josephine and know anything about her history we would love to hear from you! The more we know about her the easier it will be for us to place her in the best suited home! Thanks!
