Barn Name: Google

Breed: Donkey
Height: approx 12hh (will measure)
Age: 3 y/o
Gender: Jack (Chryptorchid/Stallion) - please see "additional info" below
Colour: Brown

Health: Excellent
Lameness: None

Vices: None
Personality: Friendly. Easy to Catch, Lead, Groom, Tie, Trim, Trailer, etc. Currently out with a herd of geldings (horses, ponies & donkeys). Excellent with the boys, he does not act studdish at all. Google loves treats and will follow you anywhere if you have them!

History/Training: Unknown, Purchased from an Auction, I do not know if he is a safe/suitable guardian for sheep or cows as we do not have any here. UPDATE: We found Google an adoptive home in Sept '09 unfortunately their horse they had did not like Google (he was a gelding who was castrated late in life) and he did not like Google at all. He was not his normal loving self when we picked him up, obviously stressed from fighting with the gelding, but we hope now that he is back he will go back to his friendly self again

Future/Suitability: Companion/Pet for a gelding (horse, pony, donkey) but not suitable to be turned out with mares while he is still a stallion.

Additional Info: Google was sold through the auction as a jack (stallion), we believed he was a jack as we all thought we saw 2 testicles dropped down, so on June 4th we called the vet to have him castrated. She began the procedure but there was no second testicle to be found. She had already removed the right one by that time. This means we will need to raise the money to get him gelded at millbrook as he is now classified as a chryptorchid, and our usual vet does not do chryptorchids. The operation will run $1000 or more. If you would be interested in making a donation towards his $1000 chryptorchid castration please email me. Thanks! We are still hopeful that his other testicle will drop down on it's own naturally like Tom's did. PLEASE NOTE: Not all vets charge $1000+ for chryptorchids, some will geld them at your home for the same price as a normal castration. Our vet used to, but he has since retired.

Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: CURRENTLY ACCEPTING OFFERS

All Offers/Trades/Donations in exchange for his adoption fee will be "considered". We will never recoup what we have into this donkey (purchase price, vet, partial castration, trailering, hay, feed, deworming, farrier, etc) so we understand we will be taking a huge loss, and we are used to that, but we do hope to get something for him so that we can continue to help other horses, ponies & donkeys in need. The adoption fees are very important in keeping the rescue running. Google needs and deserves a good permanent loving home.

If You Would Like a Trailering Quote Please Call Josh at 905-242-7229 or Email at: horsepowertransport@hotmail.com Please Supply Him With Your City/Town Name and Postal Code, So That He Can Give You An Accurate Quote.

If you recognize this donkey and know anything about his history we would love to hear from you! We named him Google when he arrived at HCW so he may have been known by a different name previously. The more we know about Google the easier it will be for us to place him in the best suited home! Thanks! Claire
