Gina

Barn Name: Gina
Breed: Mini Donkey
Height: Approx 9hh-10hh (Will Measure)
Age: 8 Yrs Old
Gender: Jenny (Female)
Colour: Grey

Health: Excellent, No Known Health Issues
Lameness: None, No Known Soundness Issues - Gina had her first trim with us and she was absolutely perfect!!

Vices: None
Personality: Friendly but Needs Further Handling. Plays Hard to Catch in Large Field But Happily to Be Caught with Treats or Will Also Happily Follow her Friend(s) into the Barn and is Easy to Catch in There.

History/Training: Halter Broke. Has Been Pastured/Stabled with 5 Other Minis (Horses)

Future/Suitability: Companion/Pet . Would Like to Find Her a Home with Another Donkey or Minis.

Additional Info: Here is the blurb from Gina's previous owner ..... "Eight year old jenny, is not registered and has not been bred. We adopted her a year and a half ago from a local farm where she had been guarding sheep for four years. They were retiring from the farm business and needed a home for her. She was very unsocial and it took us many weeks and months to get her to where she is now. She is very spoiled and now is the first to want in to the barn at bedtime. Even though she likes her stall she still paces in front of the door, I think it is just a nervous habit. She and Brandy are up to date on all their shots including west nile and had their feet done two months ago. They don't eat any special food, just good hay. Gina does not stand well for the ferrier, typical stubborn donkey, she does not kick or bite, she is just fussy. She loves to follow the tractor and the golf cart, as you saw LOL. She and Brandy love the cats and enjoy helping at feeding time. They are kept separate from the dogs, so don't know how they would be with them. Gina and Brandy are in excellent health and are very friendly with everyone!!!!! however Gina is not crazy about being groomed and if she and Brandy don't get their carrot or horsey bits at bedtime you will hear about it!!!"

Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: Reduced to $339 + a Donation to HCW (Donation Can be Hay, Feed, Tack, Gift Certificate, Cash, etc.) We have well over that into her so please know we are not making a profit on her, and appreciate any donation you have to offer! Thanks! :) Knowledgeable Loving Home a Must!

We accept donations year round. Donations can be $$, Hay, Feed, Supplements, Feed Store Gift Cards, Saddles, Tack, Riding, Apparel, Blankets (in good usable/sellable condition). We would also gratefully accept volunteer chiropractors, massage therapists, vets, dentists, farriers, etc. Please Email us if you are interested in helping out in some way! Thanks!

We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We accept email money transfers or cash. We understand we will be taking a loss on Gina, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for her, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Gina needs and deserves a good permanent loving home.

Current Status: Located at HCW in Cameron, ON. Available for Adoption/Sale or Fostering/Lease (Until Adopted). If you have any questions about Gina and/or would like to make arrangements to see her, please email Claire at HCWEquineRescue@sympatico.ca
