Gender: Gelding
Colour: Dark Dark Brown / Black
Health: Excellent - UTD on Vaccinations and Teeth Floating
Lameness: Sound
Vices: Weaves when locked in the barn alone or small paddock alone
Personality: Friendly but always leary. Easy to Catch in small paddock but needs halter left on if turned out in large field, Easy to Lead, Tie, Groom, Trim, Trailer, etc. Good with other horses, ponies and donkeys but he does best turned out with geldings only or mares only, not a mixed herd, as he was not gelded until he arrived at HCW in Fall of '08. He is usually top of the pecking order or close to it.
History/Training: Unknown, Purchased from an Auction, He Was Slaughterbound, The note said he was broke to ride and drive. He does appear broke to ride, but what I would call backyard broke or trail broke, not show broke. He sort of knows the basics, so he will need further training. He would do best with a gentle experienced rider, not for beginners. His adoptive owners are not wanting to keep him as apparently he can be very stubborn and not want to move forward!!
Future/Suitability: Diablo would make a great trail horse, or could do more with further training
