Denver

Barn Name: Denver

Breed: Pony
Height: 10h
Age: 16 y/o
Gender: Gelding
Colour: Grey

Health: Excellent
Lameness: Previous Founder Prior to Coming to HCW. Currently Very Sound. MAY 2012 UPDATE: We have kept Denver sound for just under a year and a half! Last week our farrier cut him way too short, so he is now sore, for the first time since first arriving to HCW in Jan 2011. Will update you when he is sound again! SEPT 2014: Denver has been fairly sound lately but not 100% yet.

Vices: None
Personality: Super Friendly. Super easy to catch, lead, groom, tie, bath, trim, trailer, etc. Very sweet and gentle with kids. Great with other horses, ponies and donkeys! This little guy is very patient .... it took us over 3 hours to get all of his burrs out when he first arrived to HCW, and he didn't budge an inch the entire time. He is one of the most sweetest gentlest patient ponies we have had come through HCW!

History/Training: We purchased him through an auction, underweight and covered in burrs. He is super for halter and showmanship showing, as he walks and trots in hand beautifully and knows how to square up for the judge. Broke to ride, mainly just leadline.

Future/Suitability: Companion, Pet. Perfect First Pony for Leadline at a Walk for a Child 50lbs or Less.

PLEASE NOTE: I have attached some new pix below of Denver with a rider. Please know that she is too big for him. But we didn't have any smaller riders here to try him out for us (as all of our little riders are growing up LOL). Denver is better suited to kids 6 yrs and under, approx 50lbs and under. He would be a great size for a little 2-4 yr old toddler for leadline!

Additional Info: Denver was adopted out in June 2012 as a companion/leadline pony, but sadly their farrier was unable to keep him sound (didn't know what he was doing!), so he was returned to HCW at the end of February 2014 with horribly long feet, the bars and frogs were all folded over. We have started him on a 2 week trimming schedule. Will Keep you posted on how he is doing.

Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: $339 + Donation to HCW

Donations Also Welcome .... Hay, Feed, Feed Store Gift Cards, Donations of Saddles, Tack, Riding Apparel or Blankets in Good Usable/Sellable Condition. Please Email For Details.

We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We accept email money transfers or cash. We have thousands of dollars invested into Denver with his hay, feed, deworming, farrier, trailering, purchase price, etc. We already know we will never recoup what we will have put into him so we understand we will be taking a loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for him, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Denver needs and deserves a good permanent loving home.

Current Status: Located at HCW in Cameron, ON - Available for Adoption/Sale. If you have any questions about Denver and/or would like to make arrangements to see him, please email Claire at HCWEquineRescue@sympatico.ca

SPONSORS NEEDED!!!: If you would like to help Denver, but are not able to Adopt or Foster him at this time perhaps you would be interested in Sponsoring him by helping to cover the costs of (or a portion of) his daily care - such as his Hay, Pellets, Vaccinations, Teeth Floating, Farrier, Deworming, Blue Salt Block, Treats, Halter, Winter Turnout Blanket, Spring Turnout Sheet, Fly Mask, Fly Spray, Brushes, Lead Rope, etc. If you would like to help in any way, please email Claire at HCW for details. HCWEquineRescue@sympatico.ca Thanks!!

Please Note: Trailering is Available for Denver. The Cost is Your Responsibility But We Can Make All The Arrangements for You From This End. If You Would Like a Trailering Quote Please Call Josh at 905-242-7229 or Email at: horsepowertransport@hotmail.com Please Supply Him With Your City/Town Name and Postal Code, So That He Can Give You An Accurate Quote.

If you recognize this pony and know anything about his history we would love to hear from you! We named him Denver so he would have been known by a different name previously. The more we know about this pony the easier it will be for us to place him in the best suited home! Thanks!
