Personality: Friendly. Easy to catch, lead, groom, tie, farrier, vet, trailer, etc. Good with other horses. Currently out with a small group of mares.
History/Training: Trained for Harness Racing. Broodmare. We Picked Her Up From a Local Feedlot for $600, She Only had a Few Days Left Before Being Shipped for Slaughter. Needs a gentle patient quiet handler/rider as she can be nervous.
Future/Suitability: Best Suited as a Companion Horse (but may be able to do some Pleasure Driving/Riding in the future if you work with her)
Additional Info (Received from Standardbred Canada: Remember Mama has had 3 qualifiers and 1 race (all in 2004) and never earned any money on the track. Her production record is as follows: 2006 Foal Died, 2007 Barren, 2008 foaled "Couldashouldawooda" which has made $4440.00 and has a mark 1:59.3, 2009 Aborted, 2010 foaled "Nitesicantremember" which has made $58,538.00 and has a mark of 1:54.4.

We accept donations year round. The Donations can be $$, Hay, Feed, Supplements, Feed Store Gift Cards, Saddles, Tack, Riding, Apparel, Blankets (in good usable/sellable condition).We would also gratefully accept volunteer chiropractors, massage therapists, vets, dentists, farriers, etc. Please Email us if you are interested in helping out in some way! We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We accept email money transfers or cash. We know we will never recoup what we have invested into Mama Belle, with her purchase price, trailering, hay, feed, supplements, deworming, vet, farrier, etc, we have over $1500 into her already, so we understand we will be taking a loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for her, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Mama Belle needs and deserves a good permanent loving home.
