No Known Issues. He Was Gelded in 2006. Most Recent Vaccinations Were Done in Nov 2015. Lameness: Beau Was Sound and Healthy His Entire Life Until Last Fall (2015) When He Ate All The Apples Off an Apple Tree. He Was Tended to Quickly, Foundered Briefly, Was Sore for only a Couple Days, and Is Now Said to be Sound Again. But He Has Not Been Back on Pasture Since Then. He Has Been on Round Bales All Winter. The Paddock We Have Him in Now Has Little Bits of Grass to Nibble on. We Will Slowly Start to Introduce Him Back to Some Grazing, But He Will Likely Never Be Able to Enjoy Knee Deep Pasture Again Like He Has in His Past. Vices: None Known Personality: Kind, Friendly, Well Mannered. Good for Vet and Farrier. Easy to Catch, Lead, Groom, Spray, Tie, etc. Has Always Been with Just Geldings As Those Were the Pasture Mates He Had for the Past 10 Years. We Will Try Him with the Mares and Let You Know How he Does. He is Currently Turned Out with an Aged Arab Gelding, Named Cody, Who Has Been His Friend for Past 10 years, And is Also Available for Adoption. UPDATE: We Tried Beau and Lady Together and They Get Along Great. History/Training: Beau Has Been a Pleasure Horse, Backyard, Trails, etc. Neck Reins. Has Not Been Ridden in a Couple Years But Previous Owner Said It Shouldn't Take Him Much to Get Back Into It. JUNE 3, 2016 - We Rode Beau Today and He Was Awesome!! Future/Suitability: Pleasure, Trails Additional Info: Beau Arrived to HCW on May 7, 2016. He Was Not Too Keen on Loading as He Had Not Been Trailered in 10 Years. With Some Patience We Managed to Get Him On One Foot at a Time with No Much Fussing, Just Slow and Steady. He Travelled Well. But Panicked on the Way Out and Caught the Latch of the Partition on the Way Out. The Cut Required Stitches. So He is Laid Up for a Bit While the Wound Heals. We Will Keep You Posted and as Soon as he is Ready to be Ridden We Will Ride Him and Post Some Videos. Please Note This is Not Our Fault nor Beau's, Just a Fluke Accident That Ended with a Hefty Vet Bill for Us and a War Wound for Beau. We Have Trailered Hundreds of Horses in this Same Trailer and No One Has Ever Caught that Latch Before. Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: Accepting Offers. Permanent Loving Home Only. The Donations can be $$, Hay, Feed, Supplements, Feed Store Gift Cards, Saddles, Tack, Riding, Apparel, Blankets (in good usable/sellable condition). We would also gratefully accept volunteer chiropractors, massage therapists, vets, dentists, farriers, etc. Please Email us if you are interested in helping out in some way! Thanks! We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We accept email money transfers or cash. We know we will never recoup what we have invested into Beau, with his vet bill, hay, feed, deworming, farrier, etc, so we understand we will be taking a loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for him, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Beau needs and deserves a good permanent loving home. Current Status: Located at HCW in Cameron, ON. Available for Adoption/Sale.
