Alanna

Barn Name: Alanna
Breed: Paint (Apparently Registered But We Never Received the Papers, So She Will be Adopted Out As-Is with No Papers)
Height: Approx. 14.3hh (will measure).
Age: 14 y/o
Gender: Mare
Colour: Chestnut with Flaxen Mane/Tail

Health: Excellent. No Known Health Issues.
Lameness: None. No Known Soundness Issues.

Most Recent Farrier: Aug 24, 2016

Vices: None Known
Personality: We Feel She Might be a Mare Who is a Little Moody When She is In Heat. When She First Arrived She Was Friendly and Happy and Loved Our Attention, and We Had a Fantastic Ride on Her. We Did W/T/C, Small Jumps, and Bareback and She Was Perfect in Everyway. She Was Easy to Catch, Happy to Be Groomed, Easy to Tack Up, Mount, etc. Never Stepped a Foot Wrong. But Then Our Next Ride Was Completely the Opposite (Now She is in Heat), She Did Settle Down Eventually But It Was Very Very Different from Our First Experience with Her. So We Tried Again a Few Days Later (Still in Heat) and She Was the Same (Not Happy). So We Left Her for a Week or So and Tried Again (Now Almost Done Her Heat, and She was Happier, But Still Not 100%). Because of this Behaviour She is Not Suitable for a Beginner or Nervous Rider. There are Lots of Supplements Out There for Moody Mares, Hopefully One of Them Will Do the Trick with Her as She Was So Sweet to Handle and Fun to Ride the First Time Around.

History/Training: Pleasure Riding, Companion, Pet
Future/Suitability: Backyard Pleasure Riding/Trails, Companion, Pet

Adoption Fee/Purchase Price: Donation to HCW. The Donations can be $$, Hay, Feed, Supplements, Feed Store Gift Cards, Saddles, English Tack, Western Tack, Riding Apparel, Blankets, etc (in good usable/sellable condition).

We would also gratefully accept volunteer chiropractors, massage therapists, vets, dentists, farriers, etc. Please Email us if you are interested in helping out in some way! Thanks!

We no longer accept cheques due to all of the NSF cheques we have received in the past. We accept email money transfers or cash. We know we will never recoup what we will invest into Alanna, so we understand we will be taking a loss, and we are used to that, but we do need to get something for her, as we cannot help more horses, ponies and donkeys until we find good homes for the ones that are here. The adoption fees are very important in keeping HCW running. Alanna needs and deserves a good permanent loving home.

Current Status: Located at HCW in Cameron, ON. Available for Adoption/Sale or Fostering/Lease (Until Adopted). If you have any questions about Alanna and/or would like to make arrangements to see her, please email Claire at HCWEquineRescue@sympatico.ca

SPONSORS NEEDED!!!: If you would like to help Alanna, but are not able to Adopt or Foster her at this time perhaps you would be interested in Sponsoring her by helping to cover the costs of (or a portion of) her daily care - such as her Hay, Treats, Farrier, Vaccinations, Teeth Floating, Deworming, Blue Salt Block, Treats, Halter, Winter Turnout Blanket, Spring Turnout Sheet, Brushes, Halter, Lead Rope, Fly Mask, Fly Spray, etc. If you would like to help in any way, please email Claire at HCW for details. Thanks! HCWEquineRescue@sympatico.ca

Please Note: Trailering is Available for Alanna. The Cost is Your Responsibility But We Can Make All The Arrangements for You From This End. If You Would Like a Trailering Quote Please Call Josh at 905-242-7229 or Email at: horsepowertransport@hotmail.com Please Supply Him With Your City/Town Name and Postal Code, So That He Can Give You An Accurate Quote.

If you recognize Alanna and know anything about her history we would love to hear from you! The more we know about her the easier it will be for us to place her in the best suited home! Thanks!
