BBarn Name: B Reg'd Name: I B Missing Time Reg#: PR796 DOB: May 21, 1995 Sire: Topnotcher, by Abercrombie Dam: Prestigious Cam, by Cam Fella Breed: Standardbred Height: 15.2hh Age: 16 y/o Gender: Mare Colour: Bay Health: Excellent Lameness: None - Sound Vices: None Personality: Amazing, she is a great friend. She watches, she observes people. She will come over to you in the field and melts at being groomed and having her poll rubbed. She has become a field ornament unfortunately as she really loves to be doing something. I have worked with steeplechase horses in Britain and B reminds me of them, they are their own horse, but they respect humans as companions, and want to do everything they can to please them.. She is easy to handle. She is not for the beginner or novice rider or driver. She was bred to race and she is all business, she likes to know the people around her are in charge. Her main test is too see how her handler walks her to the field, she will increase her stride as she goes, if the handler does not check her and that usually means a rattle of the lead rope and a "stop that" she will start to ignore them completely. If they do check her, she immediately accepts them as boss, and does whatever they want. History/Training: B raced for about 6 to eight months with the usual preparation time to get her to the track. I purchased her from Kendal Hill Stud. She had been abandoned there from birth. They helped me get her registration completed and this allowed me to name her. I raced her just to get enough track time to mean something for her foals. She was not the fastest, but for a horse that came to the track late, everyone who worked with her said that they wished they could have had her earlier. One of the stable helpers at Kendal Hills had broken her to ride and to pull a sleigh. When she finished racing I bred her and got two wonderful foals. Time Travlin Man and Times by Sevens. Fuzzy (Time Travlin Man) won horse of the year up in Sudbury. After that I retired B and started to ride her again, I would ride her in the riding ring and out in the Forest. I never took her out alone though always with a friend. She starts off a little fresh then after five minutes you can let her out to the buckle on the reins. I always rode her in an English saddle, and an Australian saddle. I used a D ring snaffle bit and a drop noseband. Never had a problem stopping her. As for driving I never did that myself except when I would exercise her the odd time when she was with the trainer. B needs to be ridden and driven in a hood. I will give you that when you pick her up. She has not been ridden in 3yrs so she will need work. She always made me feel safe when I rode her. She is not spooky. I saw her on the track pass through the water jet from the track water truck, and in the forest a branch swung back from my friend and it hit her in the face before racking down her side and over my leg. She grumped out load as if complaining to my friend, shook her head and carried on if nothing had happened. Note: I have never cantered her when riding. She is a natural pacer once she gets over 20 miles per hour. I always found her trot so smooth I could sit it and post, and her walk covers ground beautifully. Also because of her track training she trailers and meets new horses without much fuss. I should explain that I had a serious injury in Britain which compromised my back and I have always been nervous about injuring it further by riding spooky horses, B always made me feel safe. Future/Suitability: Maybe not a beginners horse, but someone who has ridden, had riding lessons, wants someone to pleasure ride. She would make a perfect driver, for someone who has had some training. B is a special lady. Additional Info: All of the information above was supplied to us by B's previous owner.
